The NMRSD School Committee has released policies for public review. If you have feedback, please email it to info@nmrsd.org. Thank you for your participation.
The spectacular 60-minute musical, designed for middle school-aged performers, is based on the 2013 Disney film and the 2018 Broadway adaptation. The Hawthorne Brook Middle School cast includes 50 students led by theater teacher Michael Arquilla.
Seniors Landon Martin and Jack Brady were recognized as part of the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Scholars were among the top 50,000 highest scorers on the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, also known as the Preliminary SAT.
Now that we are several days into the routine of the drop off/pick up line, please do not get out of your car during either time. There are many adults that can help assist your child in and out of the cars. If your child needs assistance with buckling, please slowly pull up to the front of the line so other cars can safely exit around you.
North Middlesex will introduce an updated report card for students in grades K-4 this year. A committee of teachers, along with the Curriculum Office, worked throughout last year to update our standards-based report card to be more reflective of the math and ELA curricula being used in the district. The hope is that it is a clearer and more concise way for caregivers and families to know how their students demonstrate their learning. A quick presentation can be found here, and if you have any further questions, please contact Kevin Cormier at kcormier@nmrsd.org
Each year, our district receives federal grant funding to provide additional support to students through Title I. We have prioritized this funding to support student needs at the elementary level. Our federal allocation is based on the percentage of students identified as low-income. Further, the amount of funding that needs to be allocated within each building is based on the percentage of low-income students in that building. To qualify for services, the building must have a low-income percentage higher than our district's low-income average. Based on the state’s calculations, Spaulding Memorial School does not meet the criteria to continue to receive Title I funding. To ensure parity of support between our three elementary schools, we have submitted a one-year waiver request, allowing us to continue supporting students in each building. Our focus this year will be on supporting students with early literacy skills.
In accordance with federal requirements, we are providing families with notice of this waiver. If you have any questions about the waiver, please contact Dr. Gary Burboa-Reese at gburboareese@nmrsd.org
We just wrapped up our first year and we are on the lookout for two (2) community members from Ashby.
The council is meant to give community members a voice in school district matters, help solve problems, bring important issues (from the community perspective) to the table, etc. Agendas are developed collaboratively, and information is brought to the administration for further discussion and/or consideration if necessary.
If you are from Ashby and interested in serving, please email bmorgan@nmrsd.org for consideration.
The District will again conduct ALICE drills in all of our buildings this year in collaboration with our police and fire departments. Please remember that certain drills require students to leave campus to a “rally/reunification site.” As has been past practice, families and community members will not be notified in advance of these drills. Reassuring your son/daughter that these drills are practice and are in place to keep staff/students safe if we ever need to employ this response.
Bus routes are now posted for all towns
