Meet the Counselors

Mrs. Abigail Enochs

Abigail Enochs

My name is Abigail Enochs and I am the Adjustment Counselor at Spaulding Memorial School.  My role as a school adjustment counselor is very rewarding and I’m excited to be working with students, teachers, the administrative team, and parents in helping each child to reach their full potential.  I support students in small groups or individually.  Each child’s goals are individualized based on their needs.  I use a variety of social skills programs in my work, including Social Thinking, Mind Up and Zones of Regulation.  I support students and families on a variety of topics including self-regulation skills, executive functioning, feeling identification and relationship building.

I have my M.S. in Counseling from Fitchburg State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.  I am also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).  My clinical experience and professional background includes working as an Outpatient therapist, a Residential Therapist and a School Counselor in Worcester, MA.

I feel lucky every day to work with the wonderful students at SMS to provide the needed support to help them develop positive self-concepts and the motivation necessary for learning.   Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need my assistance.

You can reach me at 978-597-0380 ext. 6450 or aenochs@nmrsd.org

Ms. Alyssa Ware

Alyssa Ware

My name is Alyssa Ware and I am the school counselor here at Spaulding Memorial School. I started here in 2022 and have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the NMRSD community ever since! As counselor, I will be supporting students in many areas including academic accommodations, social emotional learning, self-regulation skills, coping strategies, anti-bullying, mindfulness, and much more! I am very passionate about helping students develop the skills to overcome any obstacle they encounter during their educational experience, as well as getting to know all their strengths.

I provide counseling in a variety of ways. Depending on the students and their needs I offer individual sessions, group counseling, “lunch bunches” or other social opportunities, parent/teacher consultation and of course am available on an as needed basis for all students.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development with a minor in Special Education from the University of New Hampshire and my Master’s degree in School Counseling from Salem State University. I come from a background using behavior therapy and self-regulation strategies with the special ed. population. I look forward to applying these skills here at SMS and addressing any other needs of the school.

Please reach out with any questions!
